Who can participate?
Any grade level at any public or private/independent school in Georgia can participate in the GGHS  program!

How does the program work?

The GGHS program begins with a pledge, followed by up to three levels of advancement (see links at the bottom of this page).

Throughout the program, students and teachers will conduct school-based investigations based on the GGHS assessment area they would like to study. Schools may choose to complete any number of the following assessment areas:
  • air
  • energy
  • facilities management
  • school grounds
  • solid waste management
  • water
Students will practice real life problem solving skills by collecting data, identifying areas that could use improvement, implementing changes, tracking progress, and sharing results!

What are the awards and deadlines?
By completing requirements to advance to higher levels, schools may apply for awards and recognition. Each level of the program can be completed at any time.  Awards and recognition will depend on when when materials are submitted.   Schools may also maintain their accomplishments to earn renewal each school year.
